Who We Are

The band Replica is:

Hans McCarthy (vocals)
Josh Ellis (guitars/keyboard)
Brian Crew (bass guitar)
Gabe McCarthy (drums/percussion)

We began in the summer of 2008 as No Shirt, No Shoes, Know Jesus (NSNSKJ) - a collection of friends who wanted to use their talents to spread God's Word in a new way. After two months of collaboration, songwriting and practice, we performed for the first time at the Battle of the Bands in Brainerd, MN. We were blessed with a 3rd place finish, and we felt strongly that this was a project that had a future. After a year of dedication, we returned to Brainerd to claim the 1st prize award in the 2009 Battle of the Bands. More than anything else, we feel blessed by both the talent and the responsibility that God has granted us through our work as musicians and followers of Christ.

Since our first performance, the band has enjoyed working with a number of talented musicians, including Ian Wright (electric guitar), Jeremy Tan (bass guitar), Tom Brown (bass guitar) and AJ Montpetit (bass guitar, electric guitar). We have performed at a variety of venues across Minnesota and Wisconsin, and we have completed a full-length album with Jamie Strobach at Triple 4 Studios that is available through iTunes or at any of our performances.
